Need for this workshop
Finding a common ground to define design has been a challenge due to its multidisciplinarity. We encourage everyone to understand the meaning of design before venturing into (the buzz word) design thinking.
What is design?
Have you ever tried to define ‘design’? The definition of design seems to be in constant flux. Every attempt to define design seems holistic, but still, something gets left out. No wonder, we are confused about who a designer is, me or them. Let us discuss this in the workshop.
What do we cover in the two-day workshop?
Design thinking is a skill that can be learnt. It is a way of generating ideas to resolve design issues that are identified by observing and empathizing with people within their context. The workshop showcases a plethora of real-life examples to introduce participants to the ways of seeing.
On day-1 we will demystify ‘design’. The aim is to learn design through visual documentation of everyday observations, discussions, and debates in applied contexts. We will use our Design Triad Framework to analyze various acts of design.

Special focus on rationalising visual design.
On day-2 of the workshop, you learn by doing. We challenge you with a design task. As you attempt to find a solution, we guide you through the design process. Experience first-hand, how frustration, having your ideas challenged and getting stuck can be an enjoyable process for a designer. To summarise, what does it mean to think like a designer or work with one.
